Melina began her career as a model. She won a Miss California beauty contest and also modeled athletic wear for Nike. She decided to become a professional wrestler after talking to Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF) superstar Mike Henderson in 2000. Perez started training at Jesse Hernandez's School of Hard Knocks in San Bernardino, California and made her professional debut in April 2002. Many EWF officials stated that she had the most natural ability of any woman who came through their school. In late 2002 Perez auditioned for World Wrestling Entertainment's reality show Tough Enough III, making it through to the final twenty-one before being eliminated from the competition in the final cut of the first episode. After she was eliminated from the contest, trainer Al Snow pulled Perez aside and encouraged her to keep trying to pursue her dream as a wrestler.

FCW came back to the Orlando Amory for the O-Town Rumble and a special autograph session with WWE Diva Melina. Melina announced on Tuesday that she was going to wrestle at this event but apparently wasn’t medically cleared.
Anyways, the Divas Bikini contest was won by AJ Lee and was hosted by Byron Saxton, Byron made her the winner as she didn’t strip and was “the classiest diva in FCW”. This brings out Melina and she slaps Byron while the rest of the divas throw him out. The contestants were: Christina(Alicia Foxx sister), Celeste, Liviana, Aksana, AJ Lee, Naomi Knight and NXT announcer Jamie Keyes who won the crowd vote.

Melina was slated to work tonights FCW show as she got over her ring-rust, but apparently will not be performing as she reported the following:
“Bad news peeps. I was just told I couldn’t wrestle tonight. My heart dropped. I’m sorry. But I will still be there & keep you posted.”

Okay so WWE RAW is coming to Charlottsville, VA and well i couldn’t pass on this opportunity especially as soon as I saw the match card. I saw Melina vs Alicia Fox for her title belt and she better not lose it LOLZ, so i ordered my ticket online and got the print a ticket thing. So about 3 mins. later got the email and printed out my ticket, so today at work I saw a guy come in which a VA event shirt so i asked if he worked at the same arena and he said yes, i showed him the email and found out im in 5th row, did i say 5th row yet? So i go this sunday so be sure to check the site on Monday cause I will have candids. BTW did i say 5th row lolz
Melina was in Cardiff, Wales recently and WWE.COM added a digital of her once again with her fans. She must really love us! LOL! Well go check it out.
